At Los Cauquenes, we are committed to continuously improving the sustainability area of the hotel. That’s why, given that our current vegetable garden is located outdoors and is exposed to winter frosts, in 2022 we wanted to turn it seasonal so we built a greenhouse.
Nowadays, the greenhouse is managed by Haydee Paredes(Chef at Reinamora Restaurant.) We have thyme, oregano, curry, mint, herbs, leek, and green onion, ingredients we use in our dishes. Additionally, we recycle organic waste to enhance soil quality. We hope to continue expanding our organic products!
On January 27th, 2023, Los Cauquenes received an award for the successful implementation of the program “sello igualdad en Ushuaia y Tolhuin”(an initiative aligned with the National State's commitment to cultural transformation for gender equality and providing comprehensive answers to specific issues affecting women and LGBTQ individuals.)
